26th IAA Scientific Lectures during 2009 Academy Day, Daejeon, Korea Print


On Sunday October 11th, 2009, the International Academy of Astronautics (IAA) opened a Plenary Session of prestigious lectures.

, IAA President gave a short welcome address and introduced the 26th IAA Scientific Lectures on Cassini-Huygens, by Academician Stamatios Krimigis, The Johns Hopkins University, APL, USA and Rosetta , by Academician Gerhard Schwehm, ESA, ESTEC, The Netherlands.

The citation of the Laurels reads: to the team of engineers and managers whose creativity and expertise made possible the development and operation of the Sea Launch space launch system as a unique achievement of technology and international cooperation by some of the world largest aerospace companies

The Academy Day was concluded by two open discussions: discussion about the project of IAA Position Paper on Planetary Defense and discussion about the project of IAA Position Paper on Piggyback for Space Exploration.
