First IAA Workshop on Coordination and Cooperation for Global Environmental Impact

First Announcement
The IAA Study Group 4.11 on Cooperation Program for Global Environmental Impact (IAA-SGEI) will have the first international workshop on Cordination and Cooperation for Global Environmental Impact from 29-30 May 2010 at the Institute of Remote Sensing Application, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China.
Tentative Program:
- Earthquake Forecasting and Emergency Response for Natural Disaster
- Public Sanitation and Human Health
- Global Climate Change and its Influences
This study will coordinate with the ongoing IAA Studies 4.7 Integrated Applications (Promote Space as a key element to provide Integrated Applications Services for the benefit of Earth citizens.) and the IAA Study 4.9 International Aerospace System for Monitoring of Global Geophysical Phenomena and Forecasting of natural and man caused Disasters (IGMASS).
Topics:
The proposed issues of the workshop are:
(1) identify priority areas of the IAA-SGEI from 2010-2011, especially in the areas of disaster mitigation, food security, water recycle, energy and environment;
(2) present spatial information and technology availability or possibility for SGEI;
(3) recognize gaps among IAA members, organizations, and countries for the cooperation on IAA-SGEI;
(4) propose the IAA-SGEI implementation plan and action lines for 2010-2011.
