The 3rd International Academy of Astronautics Conference on University Satellite Mission, Cubesat Workshop & International Workshop on Lean Satellite Standardization (IWLS2) gathered more than 130 participants at the Palazzo Rospigliosi in Roma, Italy on November 30- December 05, 2015.

The opening ceremony was chaired by from left to right: Amalia Ercoli Finzi (M2, PolyMi, Italy), Antonio Esposito (ASI), Jean-Michel Contant (Secretary General IAA, France), Filippo Graziani (M2 and Trustee, President GAUSS, Italy), Vladimir Andreev (M2, ISC Kosmotras, Russia), Vladimir Solovey (CM2, Russia).

During the conference a ceremony recognized newly elected members, from left to right: Filippo Graziani (IAA Trustee), Francesco Torchia (Italy), member life science section, Officer of the Italian Air Force Medical Corps and new member of the Commission 2,  Abdussalam Saleh (Libya), member engineering  sciences section, Head of Aerospace Engineering Department, University of  Tripoli, Tripoli, Libya and Jean-Michel Contant, IAA Secretary General. 


3rd IAA Conference on University Satellite Missions and CubeSat Workshop

The third IAA Conference on University Satellite Missions and CubeSat workshop, sponsored by the International Academy of Astronautics and organized by G.A.U.S.S. Srl, included a Workshop on Lean Satellite Standardization, organized by the Kyutech Institute.
Following the previous two successful editions of 2011 and 2013, the 2015 Conference provided relevant information on University satellites and opened an international forum on the CubeSat community topics. It was addressed to researchers, professors and students from all over the world.
The event took place from 30 November to 5 December 2015 in Rome (Italy), under the sponsorship of the International Academy of Astronautics (IAA), G.A.U.S.S. Srl and the Kyutech Institute. The location was the prestigious Palazzo Rospigliosi, in the city centre.

Selected Papers will be published on the “Proceedings of the 3rd IAA Conference on University Satellites Missions and CubeSat Workshop” by International Academy of Astronautics and G.A.U.S.S. Srl.
