The International Academy of Astronautics is holding the First Symposium on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math “STEM/STEAM in Space” on Friday 25 March 2016 in Paris. The theme is  “Emerging STEM / STEAM and Space”. This symposium is organized under the auspices of the IAA Study Group 6.16 on “STEM/STEAM for Space Grand Challenges”.


The nature and history of efforts to enhance STEM education:
1-    Space Physics, Space Biology & Life Science, Space Technology, Planetary Science and more.
2-    How & where should Space Agencies and Academies act?
3-    How to develop talented future scientists and engineers for space activities?
4-    What are the educational trends and expected new space fields?  
5-    Which fields are expected to lead to the next round of innovations in space science and technology, and their interactions with the creative arts?
6-    New challenges for STEM/STEAM for Space


Members of national academies, national space agencies, members of the International Academy of Astronautics, governments, private organizations, and companies with vital interests in STEM/STEAM education for space.

The First IAA Symposium on STEM/STEAM will review:

• innovations
• multi-disciplinary integration of concepts
• implementation
This conference will focus on scientific and marketing innovations, with contributions from a very qualified panel of experts, with representatives from academia, government, and business involved in space exploration today and for the next decade.

Call for Papers

Abstracts must be written in English on a single A4 page with the title, author’s name affiliation and complete address. They should indicate to which topic of the Conference they are proposed. Please use the Word format abstract form. Guidelines are also available.
